CMS boys' 7-8 track team narrowly loses to Wabash

The Crestview Middle School boys' seventh and eighth grade track and field team narrowly lost to host Wabash 59-49 on Tuesday, April 9.
Mark Hultz displayed his hurdles prowess, capturing firsts in the 110 and 200-meter events.
The Cougars' 400 and 1,600-meter relay teams came away with firsts, with the quartet of Hultz, Matt Guhl, Alex Wiedenhoeft and Kaleb Brothers winning the former event and the squad of Hultz, Brothers, Dawson Hertel and Dillion Valenti prevailing in the latter.
Guhl topped the 200-meter dash and Valenti won the 1,600-meter run to round out Crestview's first place finishes.
Runners-up for the Cougars were Guhl in the 100-meter dash and shot put; Valenti in the 400-meter dash; Hertel in the 800-meter run; and Weidenhoeft in high jump.
Bronze-placers for Crestview were Josh Wiles in the 200 and 400-meter dashes and long jump and Hertel in high jump.
