CMS girls' 8 track team tops Wabash

The Crestview Middle School girls' eighth grade track and field team defeated host Wabash 59-50 on Tuesday, April 9.

Emma Helmich was a two-time individual champion for the Cougars, winning the 800 and 1,600-meter runs.

Helmich was also on the first place 1,600-meter relay team with Jenna Henline, Mary Winans and Kaitlyn Burkhart.

Kenzie Estep was another two-time champion for Crestview, prevailing in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles.

Morgan Karshner was tops in high jump to round out the Cougars' first place finishes.

Crestview runners-up were Savanna Scott in the 100 and 200-meter dashes; Henline in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run; Karshner in the 200-meter hurdles; Jalen Rice in shot put; Helmich in long jump; and Alexis Pace in high jump.

Bronze finishers for Crestview were Scott in high jump; Rice in discus; Lexy Miller in the 200; Alex Underwood in the 100; and Bethany Williams in the 100 hurdles.
