HNHS golfers third at Bruin Invitational
Eckert ties for top, places third in playoffMonday, April 15, 2013 1:02 PM
The Huntington North High School boys' varsity golf team shot a 345 to capture third at the Bruin Invitational hosted by Northrop on Saturday, April 13.
Sebastian Eckert led the Vikings, carding an 80 to tie for first-place. The senior landed in third after a playoff.
Grant Meese fired an 86 to take 10th. Jacob Vinson turned in an 89 to tie for 16th, with Zac Tackett finishing just a stroke behind in 18th. Aidan Wright rounded out the team's performance with a 96 for 25th.
Wawasee won the invitational with a score of 337. Columbia City was runner-up with a 342, followed by Huntington North's 345, Northrop's 351, Whitko's 354 and Canterbury's 362.
The Viking junior varsity shot a 362 to finish second in the JV invitational.
Dakota Hunt's 83 paced Huntington North and took third place.
Connor Hoke's 91 for 11th was next, followed by Dakota Wibel's 92 for 12th, Mitchell May's 96 to tie for 15th and Dan Jacob's 107 to tie for 33rd.
Wawasee won the JV invitational, finishing 10 strokes ahead of the Vikings with a 352.
