HNHS netgirls lose close to Columbia City

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team picked up a singles win and a doubles win, but it wasn't enough against host Columbia City and the Lady Vikings fell 2-3 on Wednesday, April 17.
Kari Bard at second singles got Huntington North's singles win, beating Kennedy Slavicek 7-5, 6-2, while Mariah Zumbrun and Ashley Bard at first doubles eked out a win against Macie Hinen and Sydney Ford 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (8-6).
In the other doubles match, Ana Eckert and Emily Karst fell to Breanna Kicks and Alaina Beclane 2-6, 4-6.
Kylie Fredrick at first singles lost to Celine Rongos 2-6, 1-6, and Emily Eherenman made things interesting in her third singles bout with Lauren Rivas, but came up short 2-6, 6-4, 1-6.
The team drops to 0-2.
The Huntington North junior varsity also lost, 2-6.
Larissa Lund recorded the team's lone singles win, 8-6, over Hannah Schuck, and Addison Clark and Josi Stanger had the only doubles victory, 6-2, over Kathryn Dewsome and Laura Peterson.
