HU's Bowers earns 4th all-conference honor

Senior Katie Bowers topped off her decorated Huntington University softball career with her fourth all-conference honor recently.
Freshman Emily O'Leary also was named all-conference.
Last year's conference player of the year, Bowers finished second in the Crossroads League with a .456 batting average. She was also second in the league in slugging percentage, at .808; on base percentage, .537; doubles, 16; and total bases, 101; and finished in the top four in five other offensive categories.
Bowers, form Silver Lake, wraps up her career as the most prolific hitter in HU history, having slugged out 230 hits, 36 home runs and 142 runs batted. She hit .457 for her career.
O'Leary, a third basemen from Hebron, led the Foresters in RBI with 29. She hit .333, with six doubles and two home runs. She only committed four errors on the season and wound up with a field percentage of .969.
Juniors Katie Knous and Marcie McDougle and freshman Annie Weaver were named all-conference honorable mention.
