Viking trackboys lose to Homestead, North Side

A top three sweep in the pole vault and Jon Rentschler's win in the discus highlighted the evening for the Huntington North High School boys' varsity track team on Thursday, May 9, in a three-way meet with visiting Homestead and Fort Wayne North Side.

The Vikings lost to Homestead, 87-44, and North Side, 72-60.

Senior Adam Berlier led the blitz in the pole vault, topping the bar at 11-6, while teammates Adam Woods and Houston Lehman took second and third, respectively, at 11-0 and 10-6.

Cordell Lewis and Charles Mettler added second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:02.1 and 2:02.3. Drew Fawcett took second in the long jump with a leap of 20-00.25.

Earning other third places for HNHS were Jordan Utter in the 400-meter dash, in :54.0, and Aaron Ebert in the 300-meter hurdles, in :45.0.
