Thursday, May 23, 2013 8:01 AM
Huntington University track and field team members Lance Wood and Cendall Ogle will represent the school at the 2013 NAIA Outdoor National Championships slated for May 23-25 at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Wood will be making his first appearance on the national stage in the marathon as the 64th seed scheduled for Saturday, May 25, at 6 a.m. The senior punched his ticket to the championships by running a 1:14:29.72 at the Veterans Half Marathon in Columbia City on Nov. 10, 2012.
For Ogle, this marks her third trip to a track and field national championship. As a freshman she finished 29th at outdoor nationals in the steeplechase and last year she was a member of the distance medley relay team that claimed 18th at indoor nationals.
This year, the junior will toe the line for the 1,500-meter trials as the 27th seed on Thursday, May 23, at 3:20 p.m., with finals scheduled for Saturday, May 25, at 3 p.m.
Indiana Wesleyan will be video-streaming the events.
