Tackett qualifies for national PBA event in Milwaukee

Huntington resident EJ Tackett is bowling this week at the Milwaukee Open tournament in Milwaukee, WI, after qualifying in the top 28 in three recent regional tournaments in Milwaukee.

Tackett stood 13th after the Badger, Bear and Wolf opens at Milwaukee, averaging 228.70 after 20 games, to earn his slot at the Milwaukee, a national Professional Bowlers Association event.

Among the national touring pros below Tackett are Norm Duke, 14th with a 227.30 average, and Pete Weber, 17th with a 224.65.

Tackett will appear on CBS Sports Network on June 18, bowling from the third place on the championship stepladder, for the Lucas Oil Wolf Open championship. The stepladder will be taped Saturday, Ed Tackett notes.

Tackett is coming off a victory in the PBA Baldo Campana Central Open on May 18 at Lorain Ohio.

He went 6-2 in the tourney, totaling 3,437 pins in 16 games for an average of 214.81.
