King leads Lady Viking harriers to win at Logansport Invitational

Molly King placed first overall to lead the Huntington North High School girls' cross-country team to victory at the Logansport Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Even without their top two runners -- the Spahr sisters -- the Lady Vikings wiped out the competition, finishing with a score of 25, light-years ahead of the second-place team, Northwestern, which had a score of 110.

King finished the race in 19:50.85, well ahead of the second place winner, Huntington North's Becca Goodman, who had a time of 20:09.13. Olivia Eckert placed fifth in 20:26.35, Karson Rowe took eighth in a time of 20:55.68 and Cassie Hacker completed the scoring for the Lady Vikes, finishing ninth with a time of 21:03.45.

Elaine Yahne finished 11th in 21:12.05 and Nicole Smith ended the race in 22:11.

North Central Conference rivals Logansport and Kokomo took ninth and 12th, respectively.
