With Love Left Over, a family-operated organization that provides therapeutic BMX training and competition for special needs children, will sponsor its second Off Road Trail Challenge on Aug. 17 at the Kin-Ti-On-Ki Trail at Salamonie Lake.
The challenge includes both a mountain bike competition and a walking/running event.
The mountain bike event will begin at 8 a.m. and will include both individual competitors and corporate teams of four or more members. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each category.
The walking/running event will begin at 10 a.m. This event is also open to individual competitors as well as to corporate teams of four or more members. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each category.
Each entrant will receive a gift card from Red Star World Wear, a stay at one of 14 Blue Green resorts, a Cool Tech T-shirt, and a one-month membership to the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA. The first 40 who pre-register will also receive a free KFC meal box.
To register in advance, visit www.goodtimes races.com. Registration the day of the event will begin at 7 a.m.
In addition, the business that donates the most to With Love Left Over for the year will win the traveling "Biggest Heart Award" trophy.
All proceeds will benefit the bicycle program for special needs children. The organization is raising funds to construct a building that would allow the program to be held indoors.
