Thursday, August 8, 2013 7:49 AM
A golf tournament to benefit the families of two teens injured in a parasailing accident will be held on Sept. 8 at Norwood Golf Club.
Proceeds from the tournament will assist Sidney Good and Alexis Fairchild as they recover from injuries they suffered in a July 1 parasailing accident in Panama City, FL. Fairchild, the daughter of Mike and Angie Fairchild, is now recuperating at home. Good, the daughter of Eric and Amy Good, remains in a rehabilitation facility in Indianapolis.
Tee-off time for the Alexis Fairchild and Sidney Good Benefit Golf Outing is at 10 a.m. on Sept. 8, with registration from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Norwood Golf Club.
The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner and prizes. An optional skins game is available at an additional fee.
The registration deadline is Sept. 3, and only the first 30 four-person teams will be accepted. Registration forms are available on the Norwood Golf Club Facebook page or by calling club manager Jodi Snowden at 356-7409.
Hole sponsorships are available for businesses and private individuals.
Non-golfers can purchase a ticket to the dinner only or make a donation to the families in care of Norwood Golf Club, 5961 W. Maple Grove Rd., Huntington, IN 46750.
Anyone wishing to donate a prize should contact Cyndi Crews at 519-1395 or Snowden to arrange for pick-up.
The benefit is sponsored by friends of the families and Norwood Golf Club.
