HU spikers squeak past Goshen

The Huntington University volleyball team triumphed over visiting Goshen College, 3-2, in a spirited match on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
The Foresters, 2-4, won the first two games, 25-23 and 25-21. The Maple Leafs, however, responded with wins of 26-24 and 25-13 to even the match. But Huntington held strong in the decisive fifth game, winning 15-7 to take the match.
Senior Melissa Grossman and junior Heather Medich made 15 and 13 kills, respectively, to pace the Foresters offensively. Junior Jensen Carnahan had the helping hands, supplying 39 assists.
Sophomores Codie Morey and Kelsey Kruse led Huntington's defensive effort with 19 and 17 digs, respectively.
The Foresters move to 1-0 in the Crossroads League with the win.
