Corinne Tester's second-half goal proved the difference as the Huntington North High School girls' varsity soccer team defeated visiting Concordia Lutheran, 2-1, on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Tester, a junior, was assisted by Bailey Martin on the goal, which snapped a 1-1 tie the teams forged in the first half.
Huntington North, 5-2-1, got on the board first as Martin found Aly Grabner for a score before Meredith Hardin of Concordia knotted things at 1-all later in the frame.
Lady Viking goalkeeper Paige Coolman made the two goals stand up by blocking 12 shots.
Samantha Berning of Concordia stopped six HNHS shots on the day.
Concordia won the junior varsity game, 3-1.
