The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team finished 12th out of 25 teams at the Flashrock Invitational, in Carmel, on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Lady Vikings submitted a score of 366, led by sophomore Hannah Stoffel's 23rd place finish among team scoring runners, in 19:38.9.
After Stoffel, freshman Cadee Harmon took 57th in 20:28.2, junior Emily Eherenman grabbed 90th in 21:07.9, sophomore Marissa Jamison claimed 95th in 21:13.0 and junior Taryn Doering was 101st in 21:19.1.
Senior Cassidy Johnson was 102nd and junior Stephanie McElhaney was 103rd in 21:21.1 and 21:22.0, respectively, to round out the team's top seven finishers.
Senior Ally Faurote finished 187th overall in 23:28.9 and junior Kayla Farrell was 198th overall in 23:53.5 to complete the team.
Columbus North won the invitational with a score of 77.
Malyka Abramson of Avon was the individual champion, clocking in at 17:57.3.
Several Huntington North runners competed in the junior varsity race as individuals. Sophomore Rachel Nalliah was 79th overall in 23:14.5, freshman Kelsey Coles was 103rd in 23:42.1, junior Ashleigh Miller 164th in 24:31.1 and senior Abby Henderson was 250th in 25:46.3.
