Lady Vike harriers sixth at New Haven Classic

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team captured sixth place in the 21-team New Haven Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The Lady Vikings tallied 190 points, highlighted by top 25 finishes from sophomore Hannah Stoffel and freshman Cadee Harmon.

Stoffel crossed the finish line in 19:46.67 for 10th place and Harmon clocked in at 20:28.92 for 24th.

After Harmon, junior Emily Eherenman took 42nd in 21:04.00, junior Taryn Doering secured 53rd in 21:27.05 and sophomore Marissa Jamison claimed 61st in 21:32.77.

Junior Stephanie McElhaney seized 69th in 21:45.72 and senior Cassidy Johnson was 74th in 21:54.32 to round out the Lady Vikings' top seven.

Penn won the meet with 79 points. Pendelton Heights was runner up with 90 points, followed by Homestead with 114, Bloomington South with 167, Bishop Dwenger with 177 and Huntington North with 190.

Maddie Woods, of Penn, was the race's individual champion, posting a time of 18:17.61.

Other Huntington North finishers included freshman Kelsey Coles, 139th overall in 23.21.02, senior Ally Faurote, 157th in 23:55.31, junior Kayla Farrell, 166th in 24:03.95, junior Ashleigh Miller, 191st in 24:39.34, sophomore Rachel Nalliah, 192nd in 24:41.07, senior Abby Henderson, 195th in 24:50.02, senior Rachel Jones, 210th in 25:14.33 and sophomore Emily Snider in 281st in 32:17.68.
