Eherenman's top 10 leads Lady Vike harriers to 2nd at Logan Invite

Emily Eherenman's top 10 finish led the way as the Huntington North High School girls' cross country team placed second out of 17th teams at the Logansport Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Competing without usual scoring runners Hannah Stoffel and Cadee Harmon in the varsity race, the Lady Vikings still had enough depth to score 83 points, 19 behind champion Twin Lakes and 30 ahead of third place Western.
Eherenman, a junior, placed eighth in 20:36.52 to lead the HNHS charge. Marissa Jamison placed 11th in 21:06.08, Stephanie McElhaney was 14th in 21:22.09, Taryn Doering was 24th in 21:56.00 and Cassidy Johnson placed 26th in 22:04.78.
Kelsey Coles ran a personal -best 22:40.84 to placed 42nd and Ally Faurote ran a personal-best 23:13.38 to round out the HNHS top seven.
Taryn Thor of Northwestern won the individual race with a time of 18:35.73, beating runner-up Madeline Lilly of Twin Lakes by almost 30 seconds.
Also competing for HNHS were Kayla Farrell, who placed 58th overall in 23:18.43, Ashleigh Miller, 77th overall in 24:37.05 and Rachel Nallilah, 88th overall in 25:53.45.
In the junior varsity race, Cadee Harmon ran a 20:29, Abby Henderson ran a personal-best 24:06 and Emily Snider clocked in at 39:38.
