HU booters lose to Bethel

The Huntington University men's soccer team fell to visiting Bethel, 2-1, on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The Foresters found themselves in a 1-0 hole after the first half, thanks to a goal by Ricardo Carvalho at 28:55.

In the second half, Brooks Gerke netted the equalizer for Huntington at 51:39 off an assist by Joey Newbery. The Pilots broke the tie less than 15 minutes later, though, with a goal by Zach McCoy at 65:02 that proved to be the game-winner.

Forester goalie Drew Mattingly made three saves in the losing effort.

Huntington falls to 6-6-2, 2-2-2 in the Crossroads League. Bethel improves to 2-10-2, 1-5 in conference play.
