Tiffin sweeps HU netwomen

The Huntington University women's tennis team suffered a 0-8 loss to visiting Tiffin University on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The Dragons, having blanked four of their last five opponents, extended their winning streak to eight to improve to 13-1 while the Foresters fall to 6-9.

Cassie Kasicki lost to Malaika Messi at first singles, 4-6, 2-6; Jessica Abel was quickly dispatched by Rachelmary Brozovich at third singles, 0-6, 0-6; and Ciara Smith went down to Abigail Schuster at fourth singles, 1-6, 0-6.

Huntington forfeited the fifth and sixth singles matches and Celine Rongos did not finish her second singles match against Valentina Mazzola.

In doubles play, Kasicki and Rongos lost the first match, 5-8, to Caroline Nalhage and Chelsea Beck; Katie Johnson and Stacie Cressman caved to Brozovich and Schuster in the second match, 1-8; and Smith and Abel wilted to Andrea Alaniz and Nicole Ardner in the third match, 5-8.
