Homestead stops HN girls in sectional championship game

The season ended quietly for the Huntington North High School girls' varsity soccer team with a 4-0 loss to Homestead in the championship game of the Homestead Girls Soccer Sectional on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Homestead, improving to 13-2-4 on the season, held a 1-0 lead at halftime and then put the game away with three second-half goals.

Huntington North ended its season at 11-6-1.

The Lady Vikes were playing without leading goal-scorer Corinne Tester, who missed her second straight game due to injury.

Isabel Wells scored the Lady Spartans' first-half goal. Rose Wolfcale, Allison Link and Alyssa Gentry had scores in the second half.
