Ninth annual Turkey Trot 5K set for Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28

Pathfinder Kids Kampus child care center of Huntington will host the ninth annual Turkey Trot 5K run/walk, one-mile Turkey Trail and Outta Town Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28.
McDonald's of Huntington is the host sponsor for the 2013 Turkey Trot.
Additional sponsors include PNC Bank, Parkview Huntington Hospital, David Culp & Co., Morgan Stanley and Mettler Agency Inc.
Breakfast will be served by McDonald's of Huntington.
The event will be chip timed by e-Runner Timing and Results and is run on mostly flat pavement with a few hills. Both the 5K and 1-mile walk will start and finish at McDonald's, located at 60 Home St. in Huntington.
The overall male and female winner of the race will receive a cash prize of $100. The winner of each age division, with the exception of the 17 and under age division, will receive a cash prize of $50. Winning the overall prize excludes one from winning the divisional prize.
There is a fee for the race. A reduced fee is offered to those who pre-register online or by mail through Nov. 26.
Online registration is available at www.kidskam pus.org. The first 1,000 who register will receive a long sleeve tech shirt.
Additional Registration forms are available at Kids Kampus and at McDonald's in Huntington.
Registrations will also be accepted the day before the race and on the day of the race itself. There will be an optional packet pick up for those pre-registered for the 2013 Turkey Trot on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Pathfinder Kids Kampus, 435 Campus St. in Huntington. Race day packet pick up and registration is also available.
The Outta Town Turkey Trot, for those who will be out of town on Thanksgiving, is new this year. For a fee, they can support Pathfinder Kids Kampus, go for a run or walk on their own and receive a race shirt. Visit www.kid skampus.org to learn more. Registration for the Outta Town Turkey Trot must be received by Nov. 14.
Proceeds from the race will benefit Pathfinder Kids Kampus Early Childhood Education Center.
