First shot of game sinks HU bootwomen
Thursday, October 17, 2013 6:39 PM
The first shot of the game proved to be the game-winner as host University of Saint Francis scored within the first four minutes of play and then clung to 1-0 1-0 lead for the win over the Huntington University women's soccer team on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
With the loss, the Foresters drop to 5-11, 4-4 in the Crossroads League.
The Cougars' Katelyn Strout, currently ranked ninth in the nation in game-winning goals, wasted little time posting her fourth game-winner as she found back netting at the 3:23 mark.
It was all Saint Francis needed as the rest of the night was an evenly matched scoreless affair with defense dominating play. USF finished with seven shots, three on goal, while the Foresters managed four shots on the night, two of which were on frame.
Huntington's Caitlin Adams posted two saves and took the loss in goal.
