Nash gets second HU track mark in two weeks at Banks Invite

Another record-breaking weekend for Jake Nash helped the Huntington University men's track and field team finish fourth at the Joe Banks Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University on Saturday, Feb. 8.

One week after breaking the school record in the high jump, Nash shattered the triple jump indoor record by nearly a foot with his second place leap of 43-8.50. He also picked up gold in high jump, where he flew 6-6.25.

Tyler Herber claimed the Foresters' only other top finish, crossing the line in the 5,000-meter run in 15:50.14 to not only capture first but also register the sixth-fastest time in program history.

Daniel DeBoni clocked a personal best of :7.13 in the 60-meter dash to finish fourth. He also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with his time of :23.35.

The 800-meter relay team consisting of DeBoni, Scott Skiles, Wyatt Jones and Sean Sewell placed third in 1:33.35.

Other point-getters for the Foresters included Sewell in the 200 meters, seventh in :23.35; Brandon Hunt in the 500-meter dash, eighth in 1:15.37; and Josh Graham in the 1,000 meter run, 11th in 2:40.19.

Ohio Northern won the invitational with 198 points, followed by Rose-Hulman's 139.50, Otterbein's 75, Huntington's 58, Heidelberg's 54, Defiance's 52, Wittenberg's 46, Capital's 38, Bluffton's 31 and Bowling Green's 19.
