Viking Jolas wins first round match at state wrestling tourney

Huntington North senior wrestler Kyle Jolas advanced to the second round of the Indiana State Wrestling Tournament with a 4-3 tiebreak win over Isaiah Kemper of Evansville Central in the 160-pound wieght class on Friday night, Feb. 21, in Indianapolis.

Jolas, 33-2, was down in the second overtime, 3-1, but came back to square things at 3-3 before getting the win over Kemper, a junior, who was 44-2 entering the match.

Jolas will face unbeaten Vinny Corsaro of Indianapolis Cathedral in the quarterfinals this morning, Saturday, Feb. 22, with the meet getting underway at 9:30 a.m. Corsaro, also a senior, is 46-0 on the season.
