HU women 10th at DePauw Classic

The Huntington University women's track team placed 10th at the 17-team DePauw Indoor Classic on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Christine Sparks turned in the Foresters top finish by crossing the line second in the 1,000 meters in 3:02.37, which proved to be the second fastest time in the school's record books.

Hannah Moore established a new personal-record in the 5,000-meter run with her third-place time of 18:36.82. Other point-getters for Huntington included Gretchen Spahr in 3,000-meter run, seventh in 11:17.46, and Heather Johnson in pole vault, fourth in 9-6.25.

Claiming the title was Bellarmine with 90 points, followed by St. Joseph's, 79.5; Taylor, 78; Lincoln, 77; DePauw, 69; Lindsey Wilson, 67; Centre, 56; Cumberlands, 48; Marian, 46; Huntington, 24; Lindenwood-Belleville, 16; Webster, 15; Emory, 14; Indianapolis, 12; Brescia, 6; Thomas More, 5.5; and IUPUI, 5.
