Huntington North High School gymnastics team members Carly Snyder and Erica Freise both fell short of advancing to state at the school's regional on Friday, March 14.

Snyder, a regional qualifier on balance beam and in the all-around, the latter of which gave her a shot at going to state in any event, finished 11th in the all-around with a 34.200 and outside of the top six places in the other events, which move on to state.

Freise, a junior, competed on the uneven bars and placed 11th with an 8.550.

Snyder, a sophomore, took 10th on beam with an 8.650, 12th on the floor exercise with an 8.750, 17th on bars with an 8.100 and 29th on vault with an 8.700 to complete her all-around effort.

Alex Cool, of Hamilton, was the all-around champion with a register of 37.875.

Bishop Dwenger tallied 110.850 points to win the team competition, followed by Carroll's 104.225 and Jay County's 101.950, which nabbed the third and final state-qualifying spot.
