Hippensteel, Bowen power RMS trackboys to wins

Logan Hippensteel and Hale Bowen powered the Riverview Middle School boys' seventh and eighth grade track and field teams, respectively, to victory over visiting Bellmont on Monday, May 5.

Hippensteel and Bowen both topped the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes, with Hippensteel also logging a victory in long jump.

Logan Myers was a two-time winner for the seventh-graders with triumphs in the 110-meter hurdles and high jump. Jarid Miller added a win in the 1,600-meter run, as did Nolan Hughes in the 800-meter run and Andrew Smekens in the 200-meter hurdles.

Victories by Levi Teusch in shot put, Christian Graft in discus and the 400 and 1,600-meter relay teams rounded out the seventh grade team's register.

Joe Stoffel out-tossed the field in shot put and discus to record a pair of wins for the eighth grade squad.

Other field victories for the Raiders came from Gage Sandlin in long jump and Devon Rooney in high jump.

Matt Karst triumphed in the 1,600 run, Logan Vander Velden crossed the line first in the 800 run, Daniel Shivley and Mitchell Geller earned gold honors in the 110 and 200 hurdles, respectively, while the 400 and 1,600 relay teams were victorious to cap off Riverview's point tally.
