Viking netboys lose to Peru

A three-set win by the second doubles team of Cameran Stuttle and Brent Kreiger was the lone win for the Huntington North boys' varsity tennis team in a 1-4 loss to visiting Peru in a match started on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and finished on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Stuttle, a senior, and Kreiger, a sophomore, beat Kameron Graham and Andrew Rice, 6-2, in the decisive third set after winning the first set, 6-4, but falling in the second, 3-6.

Nick May at first singles and Auden Eckert at third singles also pushed their foes to three sets, but lost close in the decisive frames. May fell to Logan Primerano, 2-6, 6-3, 4-6, and Eckert lost to Jack Zeuss, 1-6, 7-5, 4-6.

Graham Sereno at second singles lost to Joe Morales, 1-6, 5-7, and the doubles team of Nathan Lundy and Hunter Phillips lost to Braden Bales and Carson Ray, 4-6, 3-6, as the Vikings fell to 0-2.

The Vikings took the two junior varsity matches played, with Matt York winning at singles and Dane Eherenman and Matt Karst teaming up for a doubles win.
