Eckert's three-set win keeps Viking netmen from being swept

Auden Eckert took a three-set win at third singles to keep the Huntington North High School boys' tennis team from being swept by visiting Marion in a 1-4 loss on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Eckert, a freshman, lost the first set to Alex Ott, 5-7, but came back to win the next two, 6-2, 6-4.

The Vikings dropped to 5-5 on the season.

Nick May at first singles was swept by Tejas Srikanth, 0-6, 0-6, and Graham Sereno at second singles fell to Riley Worland, 2-6, 1-6.

The Vikings' first doubles team of Nathan Lundy and Hunter Phillips lost to Nick Spitzer and Alex Lyons, 3-6, 0-6, and the second doubles team of Cameron Stuttle and Brent Kreiger were edged by Abishek Sehgal and Zachary Spitzer, 5-7, 6-7.

The doubles team of Matt Karst and Dane Eherenman got the lone Viking junior varsity win in four matches, downing Blake Harris and Austin Ott, 8-7.
