MC too powerful, deep for HNHS swimboys

Host Muncie Central was too powerful and deep for the Huntington North High School boys' swim team as it defeated the Vikings 117-66, on Thursday, Jan. 22.

The Vikings got a trio of wins on the evening, from senior Walter Hacker, junior
Zane Cozad and sophomore Cody Barton. Hacker took the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:01.40, Cozad captured the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:17.03 and Barton won the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:09.12.

The trio also picked up second place points for HNHS, along with Jacob Koons doing so in the 50-yard freestyle, in :25.87. Hacker was runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle, in :54.85, Cozad was the silver finisher in the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:04.73 and Barton was second step in the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:02.96.

Nathan Lundy, Koons and Joe Ruiz had third-place finishes, with Lundy doing so in the 200 IM, in 2:31.08, Koons placing third in the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:15.67 and Ruiz finishing third in the 50 free, in :27.44.
