Nash, Baker victories highlight HU efforts at DePauw Classic

Jake Nash won the high jump and Eric Baker won the 1,000-meter run to highlight the performance of the Huntington University men's track team at the DePauw Indoor Classic on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Nash cleared 2.06 meters for his win, and Baker clocked in at 2:29.22 for his top-rung finish.

Jaden Kreft placed fourth in high jump, at 1.79 meters, and added a second in the long jump at 6.33 meters to lead the HU scoring at the meet.

Others scoring for HU included Michael Bowman, fifth in the 600-meter dash in 1:30.00; Phillip Holliday, sixth in the 400-meter dash in :53.02; Antonio Castillo, sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:0082; Brooks Gerke, seventh in the pole vault at 4.20 meters; and Jonathan VanDuyne, seventh in the 600 in 1:34.60.

The Foresters finished fourth among nine teams with 62.5 points. Taylor won the meet with 101 points and DePauw was runner-up with 95 points.
