HU sophomore guard Palmer earns Crossroads League first team honor

Huntington University sophomore guard Miranda Palmer was named all-Crossroads League first team on Monday, Feb. 23.

Palmer is averaging a team-leading 18.9 points per game as well as 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals per outing.

Among her conference peers, she ranks second in scoring, second in three throw percentage at 86.8, third in three-pointers per game at 2.25 and fourth in three-point shooting percentage at 37.7 per-cent. She also tops the league for most points scored in a game with her school-record effort of 48 against Olivet Nazarene on Dec. 13.

HU junior Amelia Recker joins Palmer as an all-conference selection, taking second team honors for the second straight year. Recker tosses in 15.6 points per game, fifth in the Crossroads League, and averages 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists. She leads the conference in free throw shooting at 90.4 percent and ranks fifth in field goal shooting at 46.5.

She has scored 1,189 points so far at HU, which places her seventh on the Foresters’ career scoring list.
