HU women sevneth at Anderson track invite

The Huntington University women’s track and field team tallied 30 points to finish seventh out of 17 teams at the Fred Wilt Memorial Indoor Invitational, hosted by Anderson University on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Christiana Hicks brought home the Forester’s lone top finish with a leap of 10.66 meters in triple jump. She also posted a new personal record of :8.14 in the 60-meter prelims before finishing third in :8.15 in the finals.

Huntington scored eight points in the 400-meter dash. Shana Christian finished third in 1:01.36 while Christine Sparks crossed the line two spots later in fifth in 1:04.18.

Other Forester point-getters included Allison Amstutz in weight throw, fifth with a 13.38-meter toss, and Cassidy Johnson in the 1,000-meter run, fourth in 3:39.58.

Centre won the women’s title with 65 points, followed by Anderson, 44; Manchester, 43; Principia, 34; Huntington, 30; Franklin, 28; Saint Francis, 23; Spalding, 20; Hanover, 20; Fontbonne, 18; Lincoln Memorial, 18; Webster, 17; Indiana East, 12; Rhodes, 10; and Bluffton, 9.
