Crestview, Riverview split at girls' county middle school tournament

Crestview Middle School defeated Riverview Middle School to win the eighth grade girls' basketball title in Huntington County Middle School Tournament, while the results were the other way around in the seventh grade girls' tournament.

Kelsey Howell tossed in eight points to lead the Crestview eighth grade team to a32-26 victory over Riverview on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Other top scorers for the winning team were Kelsey Shultz and Allyson Trout, each with six points, and Kayla Patrick with five. Also contributing were Allison Henn, four points; Brooke Rethlake, two points; and Ally Baldridge, one point.

Riverview topped Crestview 35-20 in the final game of the seventh grade contest.
Jessie Drew had 14 points for Crestview, shooting 8 of 10 from the free throw line.
