Huntington County Baseball hosting 5K run walk to raise scholarship, park funds

Huntington County Baseball is hosting an Opening Day 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 2, at 8 a.m. to help support a scholarship and park improvement funds.

Awards for best overall male and female as well as age group top performers will be presented. The race will start and end at Homier Park. There will be packet pick up Friday night and starting at 7 a.m. the day of the event.

A “sleeper” division allows people to support the cause without doing the run/walk. These donors will be entered into a raffle for a collectible baseball card bundle, which can include a complete, sealed set from the late ’80s or early ’90s.

The cost of the race includes a shirt and snack after the race. To register for the race visit the HCB website at www.hcbsports.com and click on the Opening Day 5k tab at the top of the page.

Businesses or individuals that would like to sponsor the race and get their name on the T-shirt may contact Ryan Harkless at 14ubb@huntingtoncountybaseball.org.
