HU's Palmer earns NAIA All-America HM

Huntington University women's basketball player Miranda Palmer earned All-American honorable mention honors for NAIA Division II.

Palmer, of Arcadia, OH, averaged a team-high 18.8 points to go along with 2.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per night to earn her accolade.

She helped guide the Foresters to their second consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance. As one of seven Crossroads League players to be named to an All-America team, Palmer has drawn attention from her league peers since stepping onto the court last season as a rookie. After being named to the all-freshmen team last year, the 5-6 guard earned first team all-conference honors this season.

Palmer finished the year holding six national rankings, which included finishing 10th in free throw percentage, .852; 12th in total scoring, 601 points; 18th in points per game, 18.8; 24th in total three-pointers, 70; 38th in three-point field goal percentage, .374; and 45th in three-point field goals made per game (2.2). To date,

Palmer has scored 937 points for a career average of 14.4 points per game.
