Nash earns all-conference twice at Crossroads League meet

Jake Nash logged a pair of all-conference finishes for the Huntington University men’s track and field team at the Crossroads League Track and Field Championships, held Saturday, April 25, in Goshen.

Nash, a junior, earned runner-up honors in high jump with a leap of 6-6 and bronze in triple jump with a bound of 42-8.25. His all-league accolade in the former event is his third in that specialty while his honor in the latter event is his second in that discipline.

Kai Foday was also an all-conference honoree for the Foresters. The junior claimed third in javelin with a throw of 155-11.50.

Huntington’s other points were tallied by senior Antonio Castillo in the 800-meter run, fourth in 2:00.00; sophomore Brooks Gerke in pole vault, fourth with an effort of 13-5.25; the 400-meter relay team, sixth in :44.72; and the 1,600-meter relay squad, seventh in 3:30.69.

Marian defended it league title, edging Indiana Wesleyan. The Knights scored 189.5 points while the Wildcats totaled 183. Bethel came in third with 168 points, followed by Taylor, 104; Grace, 48.5; Spring Arbor, 48; Huntington, 35; Mount Vernon Nazarene, 20; Goshen, 15; and Saint Francis, seven.
