Several Huntington Gymnastic Academy members earn golds at Turkey Tumble

Several Huntington Gymnastic Academy members earned first-place honors at the Turkey Tumble, a competition organized by the academy and held in the Huntington North High School Fieldhouse on Sunday, Nov. 15.

In Level 2 action among competitors ages 7 to 8, Jersey Hacker captured first on the vault, balance beam, floor exercise and all around while Alana Bonham took top honors on the uneven bars. Hacker was second on bars while Bonham was the silver finisher on the events Bonham won, plus the all around. Lauren Minnick took third in all around.

Among participants ages 9 to 10 in Level 2, Avery Pohler won bars, beam and the all around while Lindsey Johnson put forth gold efforts on vault and floor. Pohler was second on floor and Johnson was runner-up in the all around. Kinsy Strine claimed second on vault, bars and beam and third in the all around, which Jami Morgan took fourth in.

In Level 3 competition, Alaina Stanley was runner-up on beam and finished eighth in the all around. Whitney Hull turned in a bronze performance on bars and placed 10th in the all around, where Jordan Kerkhoff slotted six spots after her.

Among competitors ages 7 to 9 in Level 4, Ashlyne Shanks earned first on beam and third on bars and in the all around. Abby Denman attained fifth in the all around. Savanna Wilson, a 10-year-old Level 4 participant, collected first on floor, third on vault and the all around and fifth on bars. Janna Teusch, an 11 to 12-year-old Level 4 competitor, earned first on beam, third on vault and sixth in the all around.

In Level 5 action, Ema Kline, a competitor in the 9 to 11-year-old division, won bars, was runner-up in the all around and placed third on vault.

At Level 6, Emma Wilson and Avery Bonewitz turned in gold performances on bars and vault, respectively. Wilson also finished second on vault and in the all around while Bonewitz was second on beam and floor and third in the all around. Chloe Camomile was fourth in the all around.

In competition at Level 7, Aleah Eckert captured first in vault, beam and floor and second in the all around. Morgan Reimer finished third on bars and fourth in the all around while Corynn Barton placed fifth in the all around.
