Johnson's season ends at semi-state

The season came to an end for Huntington North High School wrestler Zack Johnson with a second-round loss at the New Haven Semi-state on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, in Fort Wayne.

A junior competing at 113 pounds, Johnson lost a close match to Elkhart Memorial’s Christian Mejia, 4-1, to miss out on semifinals, which would’ve qualified him for the state tournament.

Johnson, finishing the season with 38 wins against five losses, pinned Norwell’s Luke Fillers 4:55 in the opening round to set up his match with Mejia.
