The Huntington University men’s track and field team took fifth at the Night Moves Invitational, hosted Wilmington College on Friday, April 22.
The Foresters were paced by Kai Foday’s first-place finish in javelin, achieved with a throw of 168-00.75, and the 3,200-meter relay team that earned Huntington’s only other top finish. The foursome of Codi Wiersema, Kevin Moser, Austin Presnell and Tyler Herber won the relay in 8:37.93.
Presnell also ran a 10:10.00 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, good for second place.
CJ Robertson earned points in three different events, which included the 400-meter hurdles, fifth, :59.25; pole vault, third, 12-05.75; and a relay. Along with Michael Bowman, Chris Reed and Jonathan VanDuyne, the freshman helped his team to a third-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:35.43.
Additional points-getters for Huntington included Bowman in the 800-meter run, fifth, 1:59.15; Tyler Herber in the 1,500-meter run, fifth, 4:16.52; Wiersema in the 1,500, sixth, 4:16.55; VanDuyne in the 400-meter hurdles, sixth, 1:00.05; Tyler Herber in high jump, fifth, 5-06.25, and triple jump, eighth, 36-09.75; and the 400-meter relay team of Wyatt Jones, Reed, Jacob Davis and Zach Herber, fifth, :45.42.
Cedarville captured the title with 204 points, followed by Rio Grande, 119; Wilmington, 99; Wittenberg, 79; Huntington, 71; Georgetown, 45; Thomas More, 25; Lincoln Memorial, 25; Mount St. Joseph, 19; and Earlham, 14.
