The Huntington North High School varsity softball team pulverized host Warsaw, winning the first game, 19-1, and the second, 20-2, in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30.

In the opener, Hannah Middlebrooks limited the Lady Tigers to five hits in as many innings. The junior also fanned two and walked only one to earn the win.

Middlebrooks helped her own cause with two hits and as many runs batted in. Ariene Butler produced a triple and three RBI while fellow juniors Mackenzi Cannici and Kelsie Vogleman each supplied four base pokes and an RBI. Junior Aubrie Eckert rounded out the Lady Vikings' offensive effort with two hits, one of which was a home run.

Middlebrooks' bat heated up even more in the nightcap. The junior thumped a grand slam and drove in five runs to lead a Huntington North attack that saw eight different players register an RBI.

Butler, Cannici and senior Alexa Hill each tallied two hits and as many RBI for the Lady Vikings, 11-3. Junior Natalea Tomlinson and sophomore Alyssa Voght both totaled two base pokes and an RBI while freshman Macy Lange logged a two-run double.

Kendra Arnold banged out three hits and an RBI in support of her cause in the circle. The sophomore scattered four hits across five frames to notch the win. She walked six and struck out five.
