Viking golfers stun 10th-ranked Homestead

The Huntington North High School boys varsity golf team shot its best round of the a year and took down visiting 10th-ranked Homestead, 154-157, on Wednesday, May 4.

Martin Harold and Michael May shot rounds of 38 and Jacob Vinson and Luke Stroud each fired rounds of 39 despite the poor weather conditions as Huntington improved to 2-3 on the season.

Nolan Betterly fired a 42 and Zane Cozad shot a 49 as the non-scorers, with each school playing six varsity and six junior varsity.

Stroud was playing in only his second varsity match of the year.

The HNHS JV lost, 159-194.

Luke Pulver and Bramley Shultz led HNHS with matching 47s. Logan Sizemore shot a 49 and Hunter Schwob secured a 51.

Jared Smith shot a 52 and Jack Young had a 58 as the non-scorers.
