Lady Vike netgirls lose to Manchester

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team fell to host Manchester, 2-3, on Wednesday, May 4.

Third singles player Jessica Henline and the first doubles team of Sarah Fryman and Emily Karst got wins for the Lady Vikes, 2-9 on the season.

Henline lost the first set to Leiah Brandenburg, 3-6, but came back to win the next two sets, 6-2, 6-2, for her win. The doubles team dominated Reilly Ruppert and Kelsey Eichenauer, 6-1, 6-0, for its triumph.

Kassidy Thompson at first singles lost to Allison Smith, 3-6, 1-6, and Katie Hunt at second singles took a 2-6, 1-6 loss to Karly Eichenauer. The second doubles team of Olivia Bowman and Leann Ringenberg lost to Bethany Collett and Lydia Little, 6-7, 3-6.

The Lady Viking junior varsity upped its record to 10-1 by winning, 4-2-1.

Singles players Alyssa Hewson, Tarah Zumbrun and Emily Bokel all earned wins for HNHS, as did the doubles team of Macy Wohlford and Anna Doctor.

The doubles team of Kourtney Konz and Crosley Stanley played to a tie.
