Lewis. Lohman tops in Heritage Days 5K

Cordell Lewis and Elizabeth Lohman were the top male and female finishers, respectively, of the 2016 Heritage Days 5K, held Saturday, June 18, in Huntington.

Lewis was the top finisher overall, crossing the finish line in 16:13.7. The Huntington native competed in the 20 to 25 age division.

Lohman, a competitor in the 15 to 19 age bracket, stepped over the end stripe in 23:01 for her win.

Samuel Eckert, of Roanoke, won the boys’ 0 to 9 division with a time of 40:35.4.

In the 10 to14 division, Wilson Whicker was the male winner and Nickey Scher was the female champion. Whicker, of Uniondale, clocked in at 18:13.8 while Scher, of Macy, stopped the timer in 23:44.9

Jeffery Whicker, of Uniondale, was the top male in 15 to 19 action, posting a time of 17:42.9.

Columbia City’s Austen Davenport triumphed for the men in the 26 to 30 bracket, finishing in 17:00.9.

In the 31 to 35 division, Michelle Pyles, of Huntington, was first on the women’s side in 27:50.2.

Curtis Ray Hines, of Huntington, was the male winner in the 36 to 40 bracket, clocking in at 18:19.3. Tanya Vereeke, also of Huntington, was the bracket’s female champ with a time of 25:36.9.

Brad Prather topped the 41 to 45 division for the men. The Roanoke native crossed the finish line in 16:47.9, which was second to only Lewis’ top clocking.

James Lohman, of Fort Wayne, was the top male in the 46 to 50 bracket with an effort of 25:54.5. Huntington native Paula Weill was the No. 1 female, stopping the timer in 31:42.0.

Garrett Davenport, of Andrews, won the men’s 51 to 55 division, registering a time of 21:54.8.

Huntington’s Joel Jerabek triumphed in the men’s 56 to 60 bracket, stepping over the end stripe in 22:53.5.

In the 66 to 99 division, John Buhler and Nancy Marshall were the top male and female finishers, respectively. Buhler, of Huntington, clocked in at 24:34.1 while Marshall, of Roanoke, posted a time of 42:11.5.
