Lady Vikes overcome deficit to beat defending champs

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity soccer team overcame a halftime deficit to defeat two-time defending state champion Fort Wayne Canterbury, 3-2,  on Thursday night, Aug. 18, at Canterbury.

Junior Sydney Kyle scored a pair of goals and fellow junior Hannah Tillett added one as the Lady Vikings scored three times in the second half to erase a 1-0 Canterbury lead at halftime.

Canterbury won the Class A championship in 2014 and 2015.

Junior Karmen Koch had a pair of assists and freshman Autumn Anderson had one for the Lady Vikings.

Senior goalie Brooke Trice had six saves on the evening. She allowed a goal in each half.
