Viking netboys blitz Bluffton

The Huntington North High School varsity boys' tennis blitzed visiting Bluffton, 5-0, on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Senior Nick May led the way to the Vikings' third win in four outings, whitewashing Mitchell Kuhlenbeck at first singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Auden Eckert at second singles took a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Evan Baumgartner, and at third singles sophomore Adam Zahn scrambled back from a 4-6 loss in the opening set to win the next two, 7-5, 7-6.

Junior Matt Karst and sophomore Clark Kitchen at first singles powered past Karsen Greenway and Gabe Eisenhunt, 6-2, 6-2, and the second doubles team of seniors Dane Eherenman and Brent Kreiger ground out a three-set win over Mason Heller and Spencer Schwartz, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.

The Viking junior varsity won only two of seven matches to absorb its third loss against one win this year.

HNHS winners were singles player Spencer Atkinson and the doubles team of Jarret Gray and Drew Kreiger.
