Viking netmen dominate Concordia

Dropping only 11 games in the five matches, the Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team wiped out host Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, 5-0, on Monday, Aug. 29.

Senior singles player Nick May led the big win, whitewashing his foe at No. 1, JT Clark, by matching 6-0 scores as the Vikings improved to 4-1 on the season.

Auden Eckert at second singles yielded only two games to Gavin Seifert, wining 6-2, 6-0, and Adam Zahn at third singles topped Jordan Beck, 6-1, 6-2.

The first doubles team of Dane Eherenman and Brent Kreiger beat Jackson Barger and Sam Booth, 6-1, 6-2, and the second doubles team of Garret Smith and Spencer Atkinson used the same score to defeat Colin Harmeyer and Ethan Berning.

Huntington North won the three junior varsity matches contested to improve its record to 2-3.

Wins came from singles player Matt York and the doubles teams of Jarret Gray and Drew Kreiger and Max Gilpin and Montana Phillips.
