Lady Vike harriers ninth at New Haven Classic

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team finished ninth out of 18 teams at the New Haven Classic Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Led by junior Chloe Scheiber's 22 place finish among team scorers, the Lady Vikings tallied 236 points to wind up in the top half of the teams competing. Carroll won the meet with 44 points, followed by Homestead with 58 points and Northridge with 120.

Scheiber crossed the finish line in 19:42.25 for HNHS, and was followed across the line by sophomore Alena Miller, who placed 31st in 19:59.76. Senior Cadee Harmon placed 45th in 20:39.34, freshman Kendyl Coles was 68th in a personal best 21:47 and senior Jenna Henline was 70th in 21:51.64 to complete the HNHS scoring.

Sophomore Kyler Hoopingarner placed 79th in 22:15.85 and junior Emma Melcher placed 82nd in 22:20.68  to finish the Lady Vikes' top seven.
