Spear scores lead HU soccerwomen over Bethel

Brandi Spear scored twice to lead the Huntington University women’s soccer team over host Bethel College, 2-1, on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Spear, a junior, gave the Foresters the early lead, but the Pilots’ Kama Hardy knotted things up at 1-1 by halftime. Shortly after the second half whistle blew, Spear tallied her second goal, which proved to be the game-winner.

Huntington, 5-7-3, 1-4-2 in Crossroads League play, racked up 20 shots for the game, with 11 coming on goal.

Audra Klopfenstein logged an assist for the Foresters.

Paige Coolman picked up the win in goal for Huntington, permitting Bethel’s lone score while making three saves.

The Pilots fall to 4-11, 0-7 in league action.
