HU soccerwomen again play to scoreless tie

The Huntington University women’s soccer team played to its third double-overtime tie in four games, deadlocking with Taylor University in a scoreless affair on Saturday, Oct. 22, at King Stadium.

Both goalkeepers, the Foresters’ Paige Coolman and the Trojans’ Lauren Engelkes, neutralized the opposing offense. Coolman recorded eight saves and Engelkes did the same to keep the game knotted up at zero by the final whistle.

Of Huntington’s eight shots on goal, senior Olivia Knispel, sophomore Matéa Knispel and sophomore Tessy Geiss each provided two.

With the tie, the Foresters’ record stands at 5-7-5, 1-4-4 in the Crossroads League. Playing to their first tie of the season, the Trojans go to 14-1-1, 7-1-1 in conference.
