Lady Vike gymnasts fourth at EN Invitational

The Huntington North High School varsity gymnastics team placed fourth at the East Noble Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 7.

The Lady Vikings tallied 94.650 points for their placement at the five-team meet, which Carroll topped with a register of 103.700.

Huntington North’s best event was vault, which saw three Lady Vikings place in the top 10. Senior Samantha Doll captured fourth place, tallying an 8.850. Junior Brianna Bates earned seventh, scoring an 8.750, while freshman Aleah Eckert claimed 10th with an 8.450.

Bates achieved fourth in the floor exercise, posting an 8.950. Eckert totaled an 8.450 to secure 10th.

Eckert collected ninth on the balance beam, registering a 7.850.

Bates logged Huntington North’s highest finish on the uneven bars, taking 14th with a 7.150.

In the all-around, Bates attained seventh with a 32.400 while Eckert grabbed 10th with a 31.000.

After Carroll, Homestead placed second with 101.900 points, followed by East Noble with 95.650. DeKalb finished fifth with a score of 93.350.
